Neets Sound Bar provides the world with sound for virtual activities
Valo Motion is a Finnish company that develops games, produces hardware, and creates a unique gaming experience by combining these two elements in one total virtual sports activity. They take solutions consisting of climbing walls, trampolines, and the like to a new level by giving them more dimensions for the user to play with to provide the user with more sense impressions. Their virtual activities use a fixed installation, where Neets Sound Bar is an integrated part of the solution that Valo Motion both resell as a whole standardized product.
A contribution to the interaction industry
Valo Motion has thought of everything in their solution, where they combine sports and games in a digital version. Based on trampolining and climbing, the player gets the opportunity to test out a unique form of interactive gaming experience that brings together movement, audio, and image with customized hardware and software.
Neets Sound Bar is a fixed part of the solution as a whole that Valo Motion uses for their specially developed: ValoJump with trampolining. According to Leo Holsti, COO at Valo Motion, the soundbar contributes audio quality, durability, a good size, and user-friendliness to the solution: "In terms of this soundbar and its characteristics, we are talking about a combination of audio quality, durability - which I see as a general sign of quality - simplicity and its physical dimensions. It’s integrated into the hardware product, so we have some specific requirements for the speaker itself, but also to the dimensions of it as it has to be able to fit into a box. There are a lot of speakers out there, but most of them would not match the audio quality level of this soundbar. "The Neets’ Sound Bar can also be controlled independently, which makes it easier to integrate into the combined solution.
A complete sensory experience
When you try out Valo Motion’s virtual trampoline game, at first you are presented with a big display that is placed in front of the trampoline itself, that the player uses to jump on. The game is invented, designed, and developed by Valo Motion in-house, and they have developed a special motion tracking system to go with it, which makes it possible to connect the trampoline jumps to the virtual element so that you can follow the movements on the screen. This adds an extra dimension to the game because you - aside from being active - have to complete the tasks that the screen presents you with. This solution - Neets Sound Bar included - is being distributed by Valo Motion themselves to other interaction-oriented companies, who want to be able to offer a similar experience to their own customers. All electronics, software, and hardware come with Valo Motion as the sender, with the Neets Sound Bar as the audio supplier.
Globally and locally
The soundbar found its way to Valo Motion at a trade show, namely the ISE - Integrated Systems Europe. Leo Holsti explains that the audio quality was of the greatest importance in terms of the speakers and soundbars that they considered including as part of their hardware solution:
"From our point of view, this is about the end-users experience - the player in this case. In any game or any media whatsoever, the more senses you can activate, the more immersive the experience. In this sense, the audio quality of the music contributes a lot to making the whole thing as fun as it is. The speaker is essentially what enables this sensory experience."
Players from around the world can visit ValoJump, as Valo Motion has both ValoJump and ValoClimb locations across approximately 55 countries, Leo says: "This is a global distribution. We have a location map on our website, where 55 countries are included, and they all have this solution with the soundbar installed. So, you can easily say that we have benefited from the soundbar. It has served us very well, and we have felt confident to ship it across the globe as a part of our solution. We are definitely happy with the product."
